10. The Search for the Missing Lunch (Part 3 of 3)

So to avoid confrontation, they hung up the phone

If someone stole their lunch, they must have done it alone

The crumbs were too small and the tracks didn’t exist

The details they can’t recall, there’s facts they must have missed

And there was a small possibility that under her shawl, the park ranger, Miss Bliss, stole their lunch from the hall

Was there anyone they could trust, they must, so with the canaries’ closest friends they discussed

“Where could our lunch be?” they said with disgust

Then the canary’s friend said “I hate to be a pest, but is there any possibility you left it at your nest?”

“Yes” the canary said, “it could be there, at the old homestead, and maybe I just picked up my laundry instead.”

So they took a trip back to the nest, flying over the power cable

And when they reached the nest they looked for it on the kitchen table

They looked under the couches and behind the figs in the fridge

In the back of the nest, moved the twigs just a smidge

They couldn’t have left it, this was such a tease

Then Dexter looked over at the side table next to the keys

“You won’t believe it sir, it was here all the time”

There it was, clear as day, then they heard a windchime

It was an indicating sound to grab a fork and napkin

But it was also a sign of events about to happen

Want to see what was on Dexter's mind during this week?

Below is a section from his engineering notebook.  Take a peak.

(Dexter's new notes are in red, don't worry about the stuff in black)

So thankfully their lunch was found and they had a lunch to finish
